Jennifer Williams

Founding Attorney

The values that families pass from one generation to the next shape our world, for better or worse. That’s why I’ve dedicated my career to supporting families, in all of their beauty and complexity.

I began my legal career as a healthcare associate at a large international law firm in Washington, DC serving Fortune 500 clients, while protecting children in foster care through my robust pro bono practice. In partnership with several mission-driven organizations, including CASA, the Children’s Defense Fund, and the Children’s Law Center, I worked to mitigate the radical ramifications, for individuals and society as a whole, that accompany family collapse. I was also honored to serve in then Vice President Joe Biden’s domestic policy office, where I worked to overcome the systemic inequalities that prohibit many families from passing on meaningful legacies.

These experiences led me to establish Cedar Counsel - a firm committed to helping all types of families prune habits that have not served them; promote resilience and compassion; and preserve their values, both tangible and intangible, for future generations through thoughtful life and legacy planning.

As an attorney and business owner, the mother of young daughters, and the wife of a medical professional, I understand the critical importance of planning for the unknown. And I am passionate about educating and empowering my clients to make wise decisions for themselves and their loved ones.

Life and legacy planning with Cedar Counsel is about helping you live your legacy today so that you and your family have peace of mind tomorrow. We hope to earn your trust and partner with you in strategically building and preserving a legacy worth leaving.

Legacy building isn’t about putting people on pedestals. It’s about building values in our children and our community. It’s a gift. A genuine act of love and service.
